REPORT: The Alarming Rise of Pancreatic Cancer Deaths in the United States: Why We Need to Stem the Tide Today. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network released this special report in September 2012, written by Vice President of Scientific and Medical Affairs for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Lynn Matrisian, PhD. Dr. Matrisian leads the Research and Scientific Affairs team for the organization. The alarming findings presented in the report include the fact that by the year 2020, and possibly as early as 2015, pancreatic cancer will move from the fourth leading cause of cancer death to the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States.

REPORT: National Plan to Advance Pancreatic Cancer Research (full text) – This report, developed by the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s Scientific Advisory Board in 2008 formed the basis for the Pancreatic Cancer Research & Education Act.

REGULATORY POLICY: On behalf of survivors, caregivers, clinicians, and researchers, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network periodically submits comments on proposed regulations to government agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). We also often sign on to joint comment letters with other advocacy organizations on issues important to people affected by pancreatic cancer.
